Welcome to The Lilac Shed! Our story began with a love for beautiful fragrances and the art of candle making. At The Lilac Shed, we believe in the magic of scent to transform moments and create lasting memories. Join us on our journey as we continue to craft unique, fragrant experiences, one candle at a time.
Hi I’m Juliet
I’m the owner and creative mind behind The Lilac Shed, where I’ve been handcrafting a delightful range of over 30 scented soy candles since 2013.
About me
As a lover of all-things fragrant, I decided to pour my first scented soy candle in 2013. I quickly developed a bit of an addiction and since making that first candle, I’ve spent endless hours researching and learning from candle makers from all over the world to hone this somewhat tricky craft. I’ve tested hundreds of wicks, waxes, blends and fragrances to come up with my own range of clean burning, scented soy candles.
In 2022 we converted a space in our shed into a gorgeous little work studio and retail space, where on most days you will find me conjuring up all sorts of fragrant loveliness. I now have over 30 fragrances in my range!! As well as candles & melts, I’ve also managed to collect some gorgeous gifty items to make it easier for you to find that perfect something.
This year I’ve decided to create a picking garden, not just for me but for my lovely customers as well. While I’m definitely not a florist, or an expert gardener I love nothing more than to pick a gorgeous bunch of flowers to brighten up a friend’s day. It’s going to be a learning experience for me and I’m sure there will be lots of hits and misses but my wise old mum used to tell me the best way to learn is through your mistakes.
Hopefully by summer I’ll have some beautiful flowers for you all to come and pick. You’re welcome to call out on your own or I can host groups at a time that suits you. Be prepared to give me your valuable opinion on the latest fragrance I’m working on! From time to time I also have open days or weekends where you can pop out at your own convenience. These are advertised in my newsletter and social media.
